GROW YOUR INDEPENDENT BUSINESS

Biznik Happy Hour Networking Event

Port Townsend, WA -- Peninsula small business owners and independent professionals are invited to attend a networking Happy Hour and presentation on “How To Grow Your Independent Business on the Peninsula.”  This event, sponsored by Biznik, will be held Wednesday, March 21st, at 6:30 PM, in the Mezzaluna Lounge at the Silverwater Café, 237 Taylor Street, Port Townsend.  Open networking will precede and follow the presentation.

The featured speaker is Laurel Black, a seasoned graphic designer who has ‘been there and done that,’ solidly establishing herself in the Peninsula business landscape.  Ms. Black will detail the self-marketing methods that built her business, revealing a practical, step-by-step process.  Her proven, common-sense approach is tailored for business creatives on the Olympic Peninsula. However, it can be used for any kind of business, anywhere.

Laurel Black Design has grown into an award-winning full-service design firm that serves the creative needs of a broad range of clients.  Ms. Black first came to the Northwest from California to pursue graduate studies at the University of Oregon. After earning a Master of Fine Arts degree, she worked in graphic design in Eugene and Seattle.  She established an art and design practice on the Olympic Peninsula in 1980.  See www.laurelblack.com for more background.

The presentation format will be an easygoing but fast-moving dialog, similar to a talk show.  Laurel Black will be interviewed by Joseph Riden, a commercial freelance writer and business coach who provides marketing communications on the Peninsula and throughout the US.  Mr. Riden writes collateral for companies and organizations of all sizes and types, including the local Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding in Port Hadlock.  See www.jriden.com for more background.

Handouts listing marketing tips from Ms. Black and Mr. Riden will be provided.  There will be a Q & A segment after the presentation.

Seating is limited to 20 people.  FREE registration is required for this event.  Biznik membership is also FREE.  Sign up on the Biznik web site -- www.biznik.com.  Click on ‘Events’ and find this event listing to register.

Biznik is a diverse and rapidly growing online community of independent business professionals, at www.biznik.com.  This will be third event for the recently-formed, local Biznik chapter.
