This listing offers a notable exception, though -- a high quality tool, reasonable cost, quick results.

It’s called the Clamptite™.

The Clamptite™ is a clever and versatile, patented hand tool that forms

clamps from wire.

This tool can clamp just about anything. A general purpose clamping tool, very

useful for making hose clamps. It looks like a slotted, pointed cylinder, about

the size of a large pen, with a threaded rod inside it, and a wing nut on top. It

has two hollow pins sticking through it, and a notched, tapered nose.

It works by drawing tight some wire loops that you wrap around something.

It clinches the wire to secure it.

This tool rocks. Lately, I installed a live-well bait system in my boat. I used a

Marine Grade all-stainless Clamptite™. In this first job, it saved enough to pay for itself, and all the 316 stainless wire to make 24 hose clamps. I’ll keep a good thing going, and eventually replace all the hose clamps in my boat with Clamptite™ wire clamps.

A few minutes, a bit of wire, a Clamptite™ tool. . .

And YOU, too, can be a clamp monster

Clamptite™ makes wire hose clamps that are better than other hose

clamps, ten ways.

1. Stronger than the other hose clamps -- metal band style OR screw-drive.

2. Greater clamping force and better placement than other clamp styles.

3. Less costly than all other hose clamps, at only 10 to 30 cents each.

4. More versatile -- any size clamp can be formed from many wire gages.  You decide wire material and diameter, and number of wraps. Light, medium, or heavy duty clamps from the same tool.

5. Smaller, lighter, neater looking wireform hose clamps.

6. Very corrosion resistant when made with stainless wire.

7. In an emergency, any wire works even a coat hanger! You always

have the right size clamp when trouble strikes.

8. Wire clamps work with amazing hose pressures when correctly applied.

9. Wire clamps are reliable, inexpensive, disposable, and fast to make.

10. Wire clamps don’t back off due to vibration like other styles do.

Clamptite™ hose clamps work in all environments

Used by mariners, outdoorsmen, four wheelers, hot rodders, aviators, home

owners, and mechanics – everywhere hose clamps are needed. Clamptite™

proved itself on the Alaska Pipeline project.

Clamptite™ WORKS --

  • Rapidly pays for itself by saving dollars with every usage.
  • Makes a great gift. It amuses, fascinates, and delights.
  • The ideal emergency tool that should be in every toolbox.

Detailed instructions and a roll of wire are included

Here’s how you use the Clamptite™ --

  1. Get ready by measuring and cutting wire (typically .041 inch, 316

stainless) and folding it in the middle. Assemble the hose and fittings.

  1. Wrap the free ends of the folded wire around the hose, passing both free ends

through the loop together. You can go around once, twice, or more for a

stronger clamp.

  1. Push the notch in the nose of the tool against the bend, pull and wrap both

free wires over the short pin, and around the long hollow pin on each side

of the Clamptite™. Then twist the free ends together.

  1. Turn the wing nut to draw the threaded rod out of the cylinder. This

pulls the wire tight and forms the clamp.

  1. When the wire is tight enough, rotate the tool over the loop. This clinches

the wire clamp.

  1. Clip the wire ends with diagonal cutters near the nose of the tool, leaving

about ¼ inch tails. Snug the tails down, out of the way, and the clamp is

done.

With practice, I now complete these steps in under 1 minute without hurrying.

You can use the Clamptite™ FOREVER, It will not wear out

Some uses for the tool other than hose clamping –

  • Whip ends of ropes, re-join severed ropes, make loops and splices in ropes
  • attach hardware to ropes, like hooks, thimbles, rings, or eyes
  • Repair broken tools or handles
  • Tubing construction joints
  • Temporary, disposable gluing clamps. Cut and discard when the glue is dry.

What other uses can you imagine? How could the Clamptite™ serve you?

There are four versions of the Clamptite™ tool.  See my other listings.

All are precision machined to high standards in the USA.

  1. Marine Grade – all stainless tool with bronze knob
  2. Professional -- stainless tip, screw, and nut, with aluminum barrel
  3. Standard -- plated steel tip with aluminum barrel
  4. Industrial Tool – stainless and aluminum. Industrial strength. Used only for high pressures and larger diameters, with 9 gage wire (.147 in. dia.)
